1. about hapi

hapi (human api) is a personal data aggregation platform that helps you unify your digital presence across various services - including but not limited to instagram, chrome history, youtube, whatsapp, github, and other connected sources - to create a comprehensive understanding of your interests and activities. our goal is to help you stop searching and let the right things find you: relevant people, communities, funding opportunities, and resources.

2. use of the platform

• you must be at least 16 years old to use the platform. due to the sensitive nature of personal data aggregation, we do not permit use by minors.
• you agree to use the platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms.
• you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and connected account authorisations.
• you agree to provide accurate information when connecting data sources and setting up your profile.
• you understand that the quality of matches and recommendations depends on the data you choose to connect.

3. data collection and your privacy

given hapi's core function of aggregating personal data, please read this section carefully:

• data sources: you control which platforms and data sources you connect to hapi. we only access data from sources you explicitly authorise.
• data processing: we process your connected data to build a graph of your interests, activities, and patterns. this enables us to match you with relevant opportunities and connections.
• data ownership: you retain full ownership of your personal data. we act as a processor on your behalf.
• data portability: you may export your data at any time.
• data deletion: you may request deletion of your data and disconnect any data source at any time. upon account deletion, we will remove your data from our active systems within 30 days.

4. intellectual property

all content, trademarks, logos, and software comprising hapi are the property of hapi foundation or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other applicable laws. the aggregated insights and matching algorithms are proprietary to hapi.

5. user content and data licensing

• you retain ownership of all data you connect to or generate through hapi.
• you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to process, analyse, and use your connected data solely for the purpose of providing and improving the hapi service for you.
• we will not sell your personal data to third parties.
• aggregated, anonymised insights may be used to improve our matching algorithms, but individual data will not be shared without your explicit consent.

6. whatsapp interactions

hapi provides services through whatsapp chat interactions:

• messages you send to hapi via whatsapp are processed to understand your requests and provide relevant matches and information.
• your whatsapp interactions are subject to whatsapp's own terms of service in addition to these terms.
• you consent to receiving messages from hapi via whatsapp related to matches, opportunities, and platform updates.

7. third-party integrations

• hapi connects to various third-party platforms (instagram, github, youtube, etc.) to aggregate your data.
• your use of these integrations is also subject to the respective terms of service of each third-party platform.
• we are not responsible for changes to third-party apis or services that may affect hapi's functionality.
• you are responsible for ensuring your use of hapi complies with the terms of service of your connected platforms.

8. payments and subscriptions

• for subscriptions, charges will be billed to your designated payment method.
• subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the end of the billing cycle.
• refund policies will be outlined at the point of purchase.

9. acceptable use

you agree not to:

• use hapi to stalk, harass, or harm other users
• attempt to access other users' data without authorisation
• use automated systems or bots to interact with hapi (unless explicitly permitted)
• reverse engineer or attempt to extract our matching algorithms
• use hapi for spam, fraud, or any illegal activity
• misrepresent your identity or the data you provide

10. termination

we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to hapi at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these terms, is harmful to other users or us, or compromises the security of the platform. upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately, though you may still request export or deletion of your data.

11. disclaimer of warranties

hapi is provided "as is" and "as available." we do not guarantee:

• the accuracy or completeness of matches and recommendations
• that connections made through hapi will result in any particular outcome
• uninterrupted or error-free service
• that all data sources will remain available or compatible

12. limitation of liability

to the fullest extent permitted by law, hapi foundation shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the platform, including but not limited to:

• missed opportunities or connections
• decisions made based on hapi's recommendations
• data loss or security breaches beyond our reasonable control
• actions of third parties or other users

13. indemnification

you agree to indemnify and hold harmless hapi foundation from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

14. changes to these terms

we may update these terms from time to time. we will notify users of significant changes via the platform, email, or whatsapp. continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

15. governing law

these terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the united kingdom, without regard to conflict of law principles.
